Why Infusion Therapy?
Infusion therapy is most often prescribed when a patient's condition is so severe that it cannot be effectively treated with oral medications, and instead involves the administration of medication through a needle or catheter. Diseases commonly requiring infusion therapy include infections that are unresponsive to oral antibiotics, cancer and cancer-related pain, dehydration and gastrointestinal diseases or disorders which prevent normal functioning of the gastrointestinal system. Other conditions often treated with infusion therapies include cancers, congestive heart failure, Crohn's Disease, hemophilia, immune deficiencies, multiple sclerosis and rheumatoid arthritis.
Home-based infusion therapy has been proven to be a safe and effective alternative to inpatient care for many disease states and therapies, and for many patients, receiving treatment at home is more comfortable and convenient. Through PromptCare's seamless transition process, our customers and their patients are assigned caring and committed liaisons to handle all account issues, including managing insurance and documentation verifications to allow patients to start receiving their infusion therapy at home. Our experienced clinical support and pharmacy service team provides personalized instruction on the administration of your patient's medication and follow-up care, as well as ongoing consultation with patients and physicians to provide optimum therapy. They monitor your patients' lab test reports and provide nutritional expertise and specialized TPN formulations to meet the needs of even the most medically complex patients. Our caring and dedicated team of certified nurses provides midline or PICC line placement as well as training and education in the proper use of all equipment. They are also available to provide valued clinical expertise and overall case guidance 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to provide better peace of mind, reduce preventable hospital readmissions and emergency room visits, and improve clinical outcomes and overall quality of life.
